Second Saturday Monthly: 7PM to 9PM
This family-friendly event takes place on the second Saturday of the month March – December, from 7-9PM on Coal Avenue in Downtown Gallup. The street is closed to traffic from 1st to 3rd and we fill it with live music, interactive experiences,live music, arts, crafts and food vendors. Art galleries and businesses also get in on the fun with show openings, artist receptions and specials. ArtsCrawl is produced Rhonda Quintana and sponsored by the Gallup Business Improvement District.

Nightly Native American Dances
Nightly from 7PM to 8PM, Memorial Day through Labor Day
Summer Nightly Native American Dances take place every evening from Memorial Day through Labor Day, from 7PM to 8PM in the McKinley Courthouse Square Plaza. Experience authentic traditional dances from a variety of area tribes, with traditional drum, rattle and flute instruments, along with explanations regarding the cultural traditions that surround these dances. It is a great opportunity to experience Native American culture, music, and dance, while visiting vendor booths filled with authentic Native American arts and crafts in Historic Downtown Gallup.
Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial
Annually in August
Every August Gallup plays host to Native Americans from across the United States in a massive Inter-tribal ceremonial. The Indoor and Outdoor Marketplace and the Ceremonial Showroom present the country’s most complete and varied displays of genuine Indian fine arts, including Navajo rugs, katsinas, jewelry, pottery and basketry. There are socials, rodeos and parades. Inter-Tribal events run from Wednesday through Sunday. Events Friday, Saturday and Sunday run primarily 9am – 10pm but check the schedule before going out to Red Rock Park.

Red Rock Balloon Rally
Annually in Early December
More than 200 balloons from across the country take to the sky above Gallup each December. Frequently described as a balloonist’s paradise, a highly prized invitation to this event—the second largest balloon event in the world—offers pilots the opportunity to compete for fine Native American Arts and crafts. You’ll want to have your camera ready as these rainbow colored giants come to life.
