Prairie Dogs by Ric Sarracino (2018)
Prairie Dogs depicts a BNSF rail train flanked by Gallup’s signature red rocks in the background, however the focus of the mural is foregrounded prairie dogs that can be seen as despised or admired in this area, depending on how you talk to.

About the Artist

Ric Sarracino is a painter and playwright. He is noted for his portraits and murals depicting Gallup’s rich culture including: Hispanic Heritage, Gallup Community Life, and the Japanese Mural honoring Medal of Honor recipient Hiroshi Miyamura.
